Greetings good gentles,

You are warmly invited to join Their Royal Majesties and the Baron and Baroness of Glymm Mere in a joyous celebration of Winter. On December 17th at Swede Hall the heavy fighters will beat back the numbing cold, rapier fighters will defend against the encroaching darkness, and bards will overwhelm the bitter wind. Come wassail with us, come join our feast, and raise tankards to the glorious Barony of Glymm Mere and the magnificent Kingdom of An Tir!

Glymm Mere's Yule Feast will include our Brewing Championship. Entrants are to bring one brew along with a list of your ingredients. Documentation and presentation are encouraged but not required. Please contact Talveen Kaur at [email protected] for more information.

Prizes for Heavy and Rapier tourneys will be field armor repair kits. These are handmade bench-chests suitable as a seat between bouts and containing the basics for emergency repairs to your kit. Tourney formats will be decided upon the day of the event.
The prize for the Bardic tourney is a 1931 translation from Latin of medieval student songs. These are the poems written by young men soon to take vows of celibacy and poverty and are about those things they will be giving up: wine, women, and song! Please come prepared with one entry (five minutes or less) of song, poem, story, or act with the theme “the Joy of the Season”. Please contact HL Lavinna de Beaujolais at [email protected] if you have any questions.

The Feast will be prepared by Lady Viena de Coniglietti. We are planning for two main dishes: one is roasted pork and the other is stuffed and roasted squash. Both contain solely period ingredients (other than the squash itself, which is New World in origin) as found in The Forme of Cury, circa 1390, but will be cooked to modern tastes. Side dishes will also be provided. Please bring your own beverages.

The day’s activities will include:

12:30: Table Games begin...running until 4pm
12:45: Armor inspection and warm-up for Rapier prize tourney
