So, you want to host a Bardic Competition?- Instructor: HL Julian Sinclair
Course Description - An open question and answer session on the subject of running bardic competitions. Topics will include, Finding a Venue, Selecting an Format, and Choosing Judges. 1 Hour. No Cost.
What I learned about Period Violins – Instructor: Mistress Alisaundre ni fedhlidhmidh dal gCais
Course Description: In this class, learn what I’ve picked up about the history of the violin and how to modify a modern violin for historical accuracy. We will discuss suggestions for period music as well as playing techniques for the period violin.  Duration of the class – 2 hours  Cost for handout: $1.00
What I learned about Period Guitar-like Instruments – Instructor: Master Leith Anhranai dal gCais
Course Description – period techniques for guitar-like instruments; mandolin; cistern; etc…and how to play with historical accuracy and have fun. Duration: 2 hours Cost for handout: $1.00
Documenting stories in period and the Role of the Storyteller the SCA – Instructor: HL Fearain
Course Description –  A discussion on how to document stories in Period and the roll the storyteller can play in a period-like aspect in the SCA.  Duration: 2 hours Cost for handout: $1.00
Miss Manner’s Guide to Hosting a Bardic Circle – Instructor: Mistress Alisaundre ni fedhlidhmidh dal gCais
Course Description – In this informal discussion questions and answer style class we will lay out the manners of Bardic circle in the known world and also give you guidance on how to handle truculent, hecklers, rambling stories, and other common challenges Duration: 1 hour, No Cost
A Note in Time: Late Period Music for Voice and Lute (or other stringed instruments) – Instructor: HL Serena Zane
Course Description – In this class we will discuss some of the composers of Late Period and learn several songs which were considered popular for the day Duration: 2 hours, Cost for handout and CD: $2.00
Considerations of Basic Storytelling – Instructor: Master Owen the Merry
Course Description - Overview of preparing spoken word performances. Discussion of impromptu, memorization, props, body language, word choice, and interaction with audiences. Good general info for any beginning performer. Duration: 1 hour, Handout: $.50 cents

Medieval Music: A Children's Primer – Instructor: Lady Kolfinna Vallagyoja

Course Description: A Beginning look at medieval music styles and instruments, presented in a fun, easy-to-learn children's style. We will learn some songs and chants, look at some period instruments and experience the joy of music together!  Duration: 1 hour, Cost for handout: $1.00

ON SITE WRITING CONTEST

There shall also be an on site writing contest.  The person composing the best piece shall will a prize.  This can be done as a song, a story, or a lymric, but it must include all of the following elements:  a lute, the sun, honey bees, a young maiden, and a dandelion.

Heavy and Rapier Tourneys to be held!! All fighters must find a bard to herald them into the ring! Or they can herald for themselves!  There will be a prize for the best introduction!

Feast will be included in site fee for the day.
Bring your own lunch and lawn chairs for around the Bardic fire!
