Populace Meeting Minutes

- It was announced that this meeting is being tape recorded
to the facilitate accuracy of the minutes.
- The Calendar was sent around.
- Last month's minutes were approved as published.
- Her Excellency urged autocrats for upcoming events to turn
in their event forms as several had not been received.
- It has been announced that Their Excellencies will be stepping
down at Yule and that Their Majesties will be attending to oversee
the changeover.
- The populace approved that the A & S Pavilion be sent
to the Celebration of Chivalry and Mostly Fibers Too! event at
Riverglen to represent the Barony and provide shade for fighters.
- While waiting for the candy-stick glass to be made for Baronial
awards Her Excellency suggested using crystal beads that could
be etched with a drop on the front.
- His Excellency announced Johann Mathuson as the new Beevarian
Captain and thanked everyone who participated in the competition.
- The Exchequer reported that there was a balance of $25,350.78
with $9,893.91 in obligated funds and $15,456.87 in non-obligated
funds.
- The Financial Committee recommended an allowance of under
$10.00 for postcards and postage to contact people for the phone
book. The populace approved.
- The Chatelaine has talked to people and given stuff out.
- The Marshal reported that Honeywar happened with no significant
injuries. There were between 60 and 65 fighters on the field.
- There has been an increase in attendance at Fighter Practice
and no recent injuries.
- The Archer had nothing to report, except that his weed mower
was available for use at the range should it be required.
- Art & Sciences reported that Sewing Night was continuing
on Mondays where they were working on tabards. Pear Custard Tarts
were made at Butterfries on the preceding Tuesday.
- Mistress Elisabeth thanked HL Rhonwen Winterbourne for keeping
everyone posted through the Evercleare list.
- Monday Nights are also Music Night at Elizabeth & Eleanor's
house alternating between instrumental and singing.
- Baroness Catriona has organized a Mask-making class to convene
at Summer Seafood.
- Mistress Elisabeth thanked Serena Lyons for running the A
& S pavilion at Honeywar.
- The painting of more dags on the A & S Pavilion has been
postponed while the space to be used is being cleaned.
- Mistress Elisabeth is pricing materials for trestle tables.
When she has specific figures, she will bring them to the Financial
Committee and organize a work party.
- Dags are still available for personal arms on the A &
S Pavilion.
- The Chirurgeon bandaged one hand injury at Honeywar, handed
out many bandages and lots of sun screen.
- The Constable (via the Seneschal) reported no incidents.
- In addendum to his report, the Marshal announce that there
have been more rapier fighters coming to Fighter Practice and
that Lord Wulfgang von Bremen has been overseeing their practices.
- The Herald is still looking for someone to take the office
- she has had several people show interest, but none have made
any firm commitments.
Heraldry is now exclusively at Baron David of Moffat's home.
It is not child-friendly - lots of very old items.
- The Chronicler announced that another subscription has been
secured bringing the total of subscribers and courtesy copies
to 31, plus 5 for the Chatelaine.
- The College of Wittenhaven is out of session.
- The Seneschal reported that the Kingdom Admin Retreat has
been confirmed and the site secured at Millersylvania State Park.
There will be a potluck open to the populace on that Saturday
night.
- Officer reports are due.
- The Chamberlain reported that she was getting more information
on repairing the Baronial Pavilion.
Please give any suggestions for adding or fixing Baronial stuff
to hand a note to our Chamberlain directly.
- The Governing Document Committee was to meet on 7/13/04 at
Coco's in the Garden Room at 7pm. Provisions for amendment will
be discussed.
- Cost figures have not yet come in for Honeywar. We may have
broken even.
- People enjoyed having the archery range where people could
see it.
- Summer Seafood has food arranged. It will be at Skookum Hall.
A mask-making class will be held to prepare for the masked ball
at Samhain. There will be a field for fighting. The Barony will
be providing the main course, the rest is potluck. The main course
will include roast beef, shrimp, and prawns.
- Samhain will not include the A & S Championship. The
A & S Championship will be next spring.
Lady Cigne volunteered to facilitate the children's activities
for Samhain, such as a children's mask-making.
- The theme at Yule will be 10th century - specifically 935
a.D. in the North Country.
Maeve will be cooking the food.
There is a cap of 100 - pre-registration will begin next month.
- The new Evercleare List has moved to Smartgroups.
- Baroness Catriona will be making one final attempt to contact
people for the phone book by mail.
It has been suggested that contact information be included, and
possibly business card space to help offset costs.
- The Archer added to his report that the Barony is looking
for a Thrown Weapon Deputy. We have equipment, but it needs to
be looked at.
