In Memoriam
My Friend
With you a
part of me hath passed away;
For in the peopled forest of my mind
Your tree made leafless by this sudden wind
Shall never don again this green array.
Home and fireside, country road and bay,
Have somewhat of their friendliness resigned;
In another, if I could, I would never find,
And I am grown much older in a short day.
But yet I treasure in my memory
Your gift of charity, and young hearts ease,
And the dear honor of your friendship
For these once mine, my life is rich with these.
And I scarce know which part may greater be,--
What I kept of you, or of you kept of me.
A wonderful and brilliant man has left the world. We have all suffered
a great loss at his going. Not only because he has gone but because he
never would have believed how much we thought of him. Just like a
true Renaissance man he was humble.
Lets make it a party to end all parties. A fireside atmosphere for
sharing stories, images and remembrances of his life. There will be no
main speakers.
Every one who can, please bring
cameras, so we can share the moments with those who cannot attend.
