Join us for a day of fun and frolic in the fabulous Barony of Glymm Mere.  There will be classes, tournaments of all sorts, music, and dancing!  Challenge yourself in the Gauntlet!  Try to win the Best Bling competition!  Go all out and compete for Baronial Bardic Champion of Glymm Mere!  We look forward to seeing you there!

9:00 am                Gate opens
10:00 am              The Gauntlet begins – this is an event specific competition for those that choose to compete.  See attached sheet.
10:15 am              Armor Inspection
10:30 am              Tournaments Commence
Heavy/Rapier – Blanket Tourneys
Thrown Weapons

Games throughout the day in the Fellowship Hall – Chess Tourney

Accessory Competition throughout the day – who has the best late period bling? Please bring documentation – it will be considered late period if you can prove it was worn after 1540.

The Gauntlet

This is a challenge course for any who wish to compete.  It will go throughout the day.  It consists of four parts.

  1. Agility – a timed obstacle course will be set up the one with the fastest speed will be awarded +5 points
  2. Strength – a stone throw will determine this section.  Toss three stones.  The one who gets the farthest distance with the heaviest stone wins +5 points
  3. Courage – Competitors will be given their choice of a selection of  Shakespearian sonnets, they must perform this for an audience of no less than 5 persons (consisting of at least one member of the autocrat team) before the feast commences this evening. +5 points
  4. Honor – The competitors will be watched throughout the day by a secret panel of judges.  The competitor that displays the most honorable behavior throughout the day will be awarded +5 points

 

Extra points will be awarded for competitions won throughout the day

  1. Heavy Blanket tourney +5 points
  2. Rapier Blanket Tourney +5 points
  3. Thrown Weapons Blanket Tourney +5 points
  4. Accessory Competition  +5 points
  5. Chess Tourney +5 points

 

The winner will be announced at court where a prize of a wooden chest with a gauntlet wood-burned into the top will be given.
